PROMETRA at the 22nd International AIDS Conference

PROMETRA International participates in “Building Bridges: Uniting the Strength of Indigenous Peoples”. 7th International indigenous Pre-Conference on HIV and AIDS.  The pre-conference was hosted by the International indigenous Working Group on HIV and AIDS and directly precedes the 22nd  International AIDS Conference in  Amsterdam, the Netherlands.PROMETRA International is  represented by Dr. Yahaya Sekagya, President of PROMETRA Uganda  and PhD candidate of PHARMBIOTRAC-MUST.  The pre-conference keynote speakers included Michel Sidibe, Executive Director of UNAIDS; Marian Wallet Aboubakrine, Chairperson of United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII); Dr. Thomas Wong, Chief Medical Officer of Public Health , Frist Nations and Inuit Health Branch.   Other presenters included representatives from WHO, PAHO and Stop TB Partnership.The indigenous conversation and work will move into the 22nd International AIDS Conference, “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges”.
