From September 15th to October 16th, 2010 will be held in the town of Jecheon, South Korea, the World Oriental Bio EXPO 2010. Jecheon is an historical city which had one of the three medicinal herbs markets during the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). This city always plays a fundamental role in the production and the distribution of the substances from the Eastern pharmacopeia. The Town of Jecheon has optimal conditions for the industry of the traditional and oriental medicine: 15 important pharmaceutical companies, a center of industry of traditional medicine subsidized by the ministry for the Economy, the academic institutes of research, approximately 1.600 manufacturers of medicinal plants etc In order for Jecheon to become the Mecca of this industry, the authorities of South Korea are trying to make it more scientific and more holistic. Thus, World Oriental Bio EXPO 2010 is the place of convergence of all the experts, Organizations, manufacturers who work in the field of the pharmacopeia and traditional medicine throughout the world. ![]() PROMETRA International, leader in Africa in the field of the promotion and the revalorization of traditional medicines and endogenous knowledge, represents the continent in this world exhibition during which the delegations of its National representations share as much the richness of the therapeutic art as the cultural diversity of the African communities.
