The Senegalese Platform of Non State Actors (NSA) successively held on January 10 and 11, 2012, an information seminar and an annual general assembly, in Dakar, in the CICES (International Center for Foreign Trade of Senegal). Enhanced by the effective presidency of Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of State, and Minister of Economics and Finances, the seminar was an opportunity to make an assessment of the actions conducted by the European Union (EU) in Senegal, within the framework of the implementation of the 10th EDF. The NSA were informed of their worries about the new orientations of the EU in regards to the conclusions of the Structured Dialogue initiated by the European Commission in Brussels. Throughout their general assembly, the NSA reviewed the methods for a better implication of the civil society, trade unions and employers, in the development strategies supported by the EU. Taking part in these two meetings, PROMETRA International made an advocacy for the taking into account endogenous knowledge and the cultural heritage of the African countries, in elaborating participative development agendas to the benefit of the base communities. The EU was invited to include in the grid of her calls for proposals, the topic related to the fight against malnutrition, and to thus contribute to the significant eradication of endemic diseases in Africa/ Caribbean/Pacific area.
