ISESCO(Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) - by Prometra International 23/04/2012 @ 10:53 In its quality as expert, PROMETRA International ran the national workshop on the role of youth in the policies for sustainable development, held in Niamey, Niger, from April 16-20, 2012. Organized by ISESCO, this meeting is part of the activities scheduled within the framework of the celebration of Niamey as capital of the Islamic culture for sub-Saharan Africa in 2012.
The Niamey workshop was an opportunity to apply to the Niger’s case, examples of integration of the vectors for sustainable development flourishing in a living space of intermingling ethno cultural humanities and taking advantage of an environment rich of natural resources. On this subject, the valorization of traditional knowing and know-how were put forward as a need to urge the social, the economics and the environment not to make of culture, a forgotten dimension of any policy for sustainable development in Africa. PROMETRA International pled for a participative action of the civil society and young people in particular, in the heart of the good management for the environment and the development.
